What is a nose straightener? can it remove dorsal hump and make long nose shorter while lifting the nose up? How does it work?

The size of dorsal hump and the length of the nose from its base in between the eyes up to its cartilaginous tip are determined by the size of the nasal bone. The bigger the nasal bone, the more prominent is the hump and the longer the cartilage extends down creating an appearance of a hook or beak nose. Deviated septum and how much it deviates laterally from the midline is also determined by the nasal bone. How to use?

Perfect Nose Short and Straight is very easy to use. Below are the instructions to shorten long nose, remove dorsal humps and to act as a nose straightener for deviated septum/bent nose/crooked nose/hooked nose (First placement).

1. Wash your face with mild soap and water and ensure that you face is completely dry, oil free and grime free before using the device.
2. Using a clean dry cloth, wipe the device to make sure that it is clean and dry as well.
3. Hold both the HTEBs of the device with your thumbs and index fingers, one HTEB for each hand. Make sure that both lower ends of the HTEBs are pointing down while the tip of the PVC frame is pointing away from you.
4. Using your thumbs and index fingers, pull both HTEBs away from each other creating a space in between them wide enough to fit your nose.
5. Place it on your nose and let go. Do not hold the device. Ensure that the PVC frame is resting at the nasal bridge/dorsal hump. See figure 1 and 1.1.
6. Leave the device on your nose for 15 to 20 minutes. Ensure that the nostrils are not completely obstructed. Completely obstructing the airway and breathing through the mouth means that your placement is incorrect. You should be able to breathe normally when using the device in this placement.
7. After 15 to 20 minutes, remove the device by gently by pulling both HTEBs away from each other. Clean the device by wiping out dirt and oil using a dry, clean cloth. Do not wet or wash the device with any liquids.
8. Store the device in a clean and dry place.

Below are the instructions for lifting a droopy nasal tip or a hanging columella nasi (Second placement).

1. Wash your face with mild soap and water and ensure that you face is completely dry, oil free and grime free before using the device.
2. Using a clean dry cloth, wipe the device to make sure that it is clean and dry as well.
3. Hold both the HTEBs of the device with your thumbs and index fingers, one HTEB for each hand. Make sure that both lower ends of the HTEBs are pointing towards you and the tip of the PVC frame is pointing downwards akin to letter “U”.
4. Using your thumbs and index fingers, pull both HTEBs away from each other creating a space in between them wide enough to fit your nose.
5. Place it on your nose and let go. Do not hold the device. Ensure that the PVC frame is lifting the tip of your nose. See figure 2 and 2.1.
6. Leave the device on your nose for 15 to 20 minutes. This placement will completely obstruct the nostrils hence, mouth breathing is necessary.
7. After 15 to 20 minutes, remove the device by gently by pulling both HTEBs away from each other. Clean the device by wiping out dirt and oil using a dry, clean cloth. Do not wet or wash the device with any liquids.
8. Store the device in a clean and dry place.

IMPORTANT: Should you do both the placements above, ensure that each placement is given a full 15 to 20 minutes each. Allow your nose to rest at least 30 minutes before doing the Second placement. If the device frequently slips from your nose ensure that your face was cleansed properly using an oil free cleanser and your nose is completely dry and is free from oil. If slipping persists, powder your nose with an ordinary face or baby powder. Slipping usually does occur during the first week of using the device and will not anymore occur once the device completely adjusts to your nose.
